Mattress 'Low Blows' LP
MDR 004 MATTRESS 'Low Blows' is now available. Released October, 2009 500 Pressed on Clear Vinyl --- 10$ 'Low Blows' finds Marshall trafficking in gritty, chunky beats, with an emphasis on his sound's low end and an increasing reliance on guitar...this recordr has a homespun, distant feel, but it's warmer than its predecessor...it's that voice -- which falls somewhere between the conversational speech of an undertaker and a preserved '50s lounge singer unfrozen during the apocalypse that makes these songs tick..an instrument this unique is immune to the sophomore slump.' -Michael Manheimer |

Adam Payne 'Maybelline Weeks' 7-inch
MDR 003 ADAM PAYNE 'Maybelline Weeks' is currently in print. Released August, 2009 300 Pressed --- 4$ 'The rock and roll spirit is strong i this one (Julian Cope is an outspoken fan), and with so many bands delighting in scuzz-caked no-fi these days, it's refreshing to hear some good old lo-fi that draws from Dino Jr. as much as The Ramones....Solid skronk-pop.' -Chris Martins, Inches, LA Weekly Blog |

Them, Themselves or They 'Ribbons & Bows...Angel Dust & Magick Wands' 7-inch |
MDR 002 THEM, THEMSELVES OR THEY 'Ribbons & Bows...Angel Dust & Magick Wands'' is currently in print. Released February, 2008 300 Pressed --- Includes CDR with bonus tracks --- 4$ 'Excellent sunrise burnoff quiet psych jams, kind of in line with Valet-style double vision candlelight headbone reverberations, but also with a more bluesy, ground-based attack, with big booming basslines akin to Opal at their roadhousiest. Cool mists rise off of these two offerings, quietly seductive and begging for “freshies” in the chamber. Extremely listenable and gets better with repeat spins.' -Doug Mosurock, Still Single |

Mattress 'In Your Pocket' 7-inch
MDR 001 MATTRESS 'In Your Pocket' is currently out of print. Released July, 2007 --- 300 originally pressed --- Included CDR with bonus tracks 'I've heard some genteel peepin about his similarities to Alan Vega & Suicide but I don't think the paleo dark/space vibe (what resonates from Suicide to my node) is all that prominent. I mean, it's there-if you want it to be-but scratch your ears a little faster & hear trickles 'n blurts what's remininscent of Minimal Man, Pyrolator & (early) Quintron. It a man & his machines, primed & pulsating, up against it w/not a worry in the world. It's not naivete folks, it's bravado & personally.....I like his odds.' -Siltblog |
